A misleading labelling

A young child presenting allergy to groundnuts regularly eats food prepared in chicken-stock from the label Knorr.
At the end of a meal, he presents an asthmatic reaction leading his parents to reconsider all the labels of the various kinds of food eaten at that time. As they read over again the label of the chicken-stock produced under the label Knorr, they discover that its making-up has changed and that henceforth it contains fat matters, among which groundnut replacing animal fat matters that made it up previously.
It has to be noticed that the new making-up also includes lactoserum and therefore milk proteins. Egg is part and parcel in both formulas.
This observation draws one’s attention on labels that change and may easily catch out the consumers’watchfulness.
The incriminated product was manufactured in the same factory, presented the same packing-up and its expiry date was close to 01/2002 and 07/2002. To find groundnut and milk in chicken-stock. Is quite astonisting for not well-informed consumers.
Therefore, we add avoidance of Knorr chicken-stock in the avoidance diet of our patients allergic to groundnuts, milk and/or eggs.
It is therefore quite essential for our patients to check the making-up and components of the products they use on any pack they buy.
