The
Circle of Clinical and Laboratory Investigations into Food Allergy
- Cercle d'Investigations Cliniques et Biologiques enAllergologie
Alimentaire - CICBAA - is an association founded
on July 7, 1993.
Its
principal aim is to carry out clinical research and to take an
active part in fundamental research into food allergy, working
in close cooperation with chemists, immunologists and allergists.
It also aims to provide allergists and other specialists with required
information rapidly. For this purpose a bimonthly review has been edited
since 1996 : Alim'Inter.
The need for information by the general public, especially for practical
advice with regard to allergy management, resulted in the setting up
of the "Friends of CICBAA" Association. Physicians
who are not allergists, dieticians and other health care professionals,
as well as representatives of Associations from the General Public, are
invited to join this association.
In April 2002, the two associations had 630 members.
The internet site www.cicbaa.com has a site for the
General Public giving practical advice to parents of allergic children
: exclusion diets and recipes for people with food allergies, and an
alergological site reserved to the members of both associations.
Allergists
and immunoallergological researchers may apply to become
members of CICBAA by registering with Dr. E. BEAUDOUIN
